Joe Maddon came out this week to defend his hitting coach Derek Shelton after the Rays couldn’t buy a run during their losing streak. Booger noted that this reminded him of one of his former coaches: Tony Dungy.
Booger said that Tony Dungy was a staunch defender of his offensive coordinator Mike Shula. The Glazers had to step in fire Shula after the Bucs loss in the NFC Championship game in 2000.
