Bucs Sign RB Charles Sims

Per the Buccaneers press release:

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today the signing of 2014 NFL Draft selection Charles Sims.

Sims (6-0, 213) was selected in the third round (69th overall) and during his collegiate career, started 39-of-48 games he appeared in, recording 592 carries for 3,465 yards and 40 touchdowns, while also catching 203 passes for 2,108 yards and 11 touchdowns. After spending four years at Houston (2009-12), Sims played for West Virginia in 2013, earning co-Big 12 Newcomer of the Year honors. In his lone season with the Mountaineers, Sims started all 12 games and set career highs in rush attempts (208) and rushing yards (1,095), while adding 11 rushing touchdowns, the third-most in the Big 12.

A Houston native, Sims attended Westbury High School, where he was named District 21-4A MVP and was first-team All-District as a senior.
