The Spurs should be embarrassed, and the NBA enraged

Last night, the Spurs and the Heat did battle in game one of the NBA Finals. Who knew they would have to battle the elements as well? With a broken A/C system, San Antonio and Miami were forced to play in building temperatures exceeding NINETY degrees.

On social media today, I’m hearing a lot of this: “Suck it up,” “Tough it out,” etc. these takes miss the boat completely, so much so that our yacht is but a speck in the distance. A guy can dream, right?

This isn’t a toughness issue – it’s a presentation issue. The NBA Finals are the red carpet show for the NBA’s season. By investing our most precious resource, time, to watch, we put down on par with a five star meal. What we received in return? Rump roast. Or how about this one? If you were having a housewarming party, would you have everyone over when your new digs smell like mold, leaks in the ceiling, water dripping on your guests heads? No? well, the NBA did so last night.

Be your best at the preeminent moment. Last night, the NBA swung and missed.
