Middle School Student Accused Of Plotting To Kill 5 Teachers, Himself
CLERMONT, Fla. (CBS Tampa) — A Florida middle school student is accused of plotting to kill five of his teachers and then kill himself.
WFTV reports that the plot was revealed after authorities were called to the East Ridge Middle School in Clermont over reports of a student with a knife.
Authorities say that the student planned out the attack in a book he handed over to them, detailing how he would fatally stab his teachers and then kill himself in front of his classmates in the cafeteria.
“He said this kid pulled out a huge knife and he said, ‘I’m gonna kill every single one of the teachers,’” student Dylan Schooley told WFTV.
The middle school student was reportedly suspended for 10 days before this latest incident.
“I mean, with everything that goes on nowadays, you take these things very seriously,” parent Al Smith told WFTV.
Authorities searched the child’s home and told the station they didn’t find anything else suspicious related to the plot. The student is being medically evaluated. It is not known what type of punishment he will face yet for the alleged plot.
