(AUDIO) Brian Anderson: Grant Balfour Shouldn’t Have Reacted to Fans Booing Him

Brian Anderson from Sun Sports has been critical of the pace of Rays games and joined Booger and Rich to discuss his thoughts on that and the Rays recent struggles.

BA said yesterday’s win was a huge win for the team because of their struggles, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it will get them going. They have to be consistent however with the struggling Red Sox coming to town it’s ripe for a revival.

Anderson said that closer Grant Balfour appears to be pitching away from contact. It looks like he’s throwing his fastball off the plate instead of attacking hitters. Opposing teams are starting to be more patient with Balfour leading to more walks.

Balfour was booed yesterday and went off on the fans after the game. BA said he shouldn’t have reacted to it because it just gives it legs and you can’t win that battle. You just don’t say that.
