On this week’s edition of the Current, we had the opportunity to speak with Carl S. Ey, a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel. He completed 23 years of service and earned a Bronze Star in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Carl is the Director of Communications for the Wounded Warrior Amputee Football team. He tells us his amazing story and gives us all the details about the game, which will be held at Plant High on Wednesday, May 21st from 6-8 P.M.

Another participant in the game at Plant is Buccaneers Punter, Michael Koenen. He says it’s a huge highlight for him, getting a chance to participate in this game and meeting the players on the Wounded Warrior Amputee Football team.

The game was presented by Humana and speaking of Humana…Humana and the Humana Foundation are awarding grants totaling $350,000 to nonprofits in the Tampa Bay area. Applications are being accepted through June 30th and organizations who wish to enter can visit Humana online. Roxanne Wilder spoke with Al Hernandez, Humana’s Vice President of Sales and Account Management.
