Missing Car Connected To Fatal Daycare Crash Found

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — State troopers say they’ve located a missing rental car connected to the suspect in a fatal crash at an Orlando-area daycare center.

Wanda Diaz of the Florida Highway Patrol says Robert Corchado’s attorney told troopers Saturday night that he had the location of and the keys to the missing vehicle. Diaz says troopers found the vehicle at an Orlando apartment complex.

Investigators say Corchado rented the vehicle after dumping the SUV he was crashed into a convertible, sending the car spinning into a Winter Park daycare center. The crash Wednesday killed a 4-year-old girl and injured 14 others, most of them children.

A statewide manhunt for Corchado ended Thursday with his arrest. A judge is scheduled to hear arguments Monday on whether Corchado can be released on bail.
