(AUDIO) Tommy John: The Longer the Recovery for Matt Moore the Better

The man who the surgery is named after Tommy John joined Booger and Rich to discuss what Matt Moore could be facing if his UCL tear is bad enough to require surgery.

John said the slower the recovery the better. It just takes time for nature to heal the ligaments. You can’t do much to rush yourself back. He said Matt Moore can pitch and he would prefer if he took his time to get back so he can be there for 10 more years.

John said when his injury happened, he felt a horrible pain in his elbow. The ball blooped to the plate and after throwing another pitch, he realized he had to come off the field.

John said the question for Moore is do you want to rehab and try and get back for 2014 or do you want to go ahead and just get the surgery. If you he waits and tries to rehab and ends up needing the surgery anyway, that would cut into the 2015 season.
