(AUDIO) Darren Pang: Lindback Can Keep Games Close in the Playoffs

NHL Network analyst and former goalie Darren Pang joined Booger and Rich to discuss the impact of Ben Bishop’s injury on the Lightning’s season.

Pang said that he witnessed Bishop’s injury and it’s too bad because he’s had a tremendous season. However, Pang did say that an injury like Bishop’s will help the Lightning get focused, knowing they have to play shutdown defense to have a chance.

Despite not getting a lot of playing time this season, Pang said that Anders Lindback has played behind great goalies and that will help him in the playoffs. Pang said in a series against the Canadiens, you’ll likely see close, low scoring games and Lindback is good enough to keep the Bolts in those games.

Steve Yzerman recently received a 4 year contract extension and Pang said he absolutely deserved it. Yzerman made a great trade for Ryan Callahan, dealing Marty St. Louis who didn’t even want to play in Tampa anymore. Pang said right now we are just seeing the start of something very special in Tampa Bay.
