(AUDIO) The Gators Haven’t Gotten Enough Respect

St. Joe’s men’s basketball coach Phil Martelli came within seconds of beating UCONN in the NCAA Tournament this year and he joined Rich and Marc to discuss what it will take for Billy Donovan and the Florida Gators to knock off the Huskies.

Martelli recently said that Florida hasn’t gotten the respect they deserve. Martelli said many of us got caught up in teams like Wichita State and Duke and Syracuse while the Gators haven’t lost in 3 months and won 30 straight games. What the Gators have done is exemplifies what we want out of a true college basketball team.

Martelli said Florida has to do what they’ve done all year against UCONN and has to play as a team and buy into Billy Donovan in order to advance to the National Championship game.

Martelli said the key to winning this Final Four is to settle in early despite playing in front of a huge crowd. He said making shots is key. Defense is great but no team has won the tournament 2-0.
