According to one of Booger McFarland’s sources closest to the situation, Marty St. Louis had several different reasons for wanting to be traded to the New York Rangers before the deadline.

The source says that St. Louis was unhappy about being left off of Team Canada’s roster in 2010 and again this year but one of the contributing factors in his decision to request a trade from Steve Yzerman was because his wife was unhappy being in Tampa. She reportedly wanted to move to New York where the St. Louis family has a house nearby in Connecticut.
