BREAKING NEWS: So Long, Captain-Martin St. Louis Traded To NY Rangers For Callahan, Draft Picks

Well, that’s that. So long, Martin St. Louis. Hello, Ryan Callahan and draft picks.

The trade that’s been rumored for days now to be in the works between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the New York Rangers has reportedly been completed. The Rangers send Callahan, who would have been a free agent after this season, along with a 1st and a 2nd round draft pick in the upcoming draft, to the Lightning for St. Louis, who it’s been speculated had been asking Lightning GM Steve Yzerman for a trade for some time, and reiterated his request upon his return from the Sochi Olympics. News of the completed deal first broke on Twitter, as Montreal TVA hockey reporter Renaud Lavoie reported it through his account:
