(AUDIO) Zig Fracassi: You Don’t Want St. Louis to be a Cancer in the Locker Room

NHL analyst Zig Fracassi joined Booger and Rich to discuss the Marty St. Louis trade and what the Lightning should expect moving forward.

Fracassi said that it seemed like St. Louis was at the point in his career that if he didn’t feel appreciated, then he just wanted to leave despite being the face of the Lightning franchise.

Fracassi said that Ryan Callahan is a warrior and this was the right time to pull this trade off. Callahan will block shots and is great in the locker room. Fracassi said that Callahan is the type of guy who will play every game like it’s Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

One drawback of Callahan is that he’s a little brittle according to Fracassi, but only because he plays all-out every seconds of every game.

Right now Fracassi said that the Lightning are more equipped to make a playoff run than the Rangers, especially with the return of Steven Stamkos.

Overall, Fracassi told Booger and Rich that if St. Louis is hurt by being left off Team Canada then so be it. You don’t want that kind of cancer in the locker room. Fracassi said this may have been part of Yzerman’s plan all along.
