Police: Teacher Made 10-Year-Old Student Unclog Used Urinal

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – A local teacher is facing criminal charges after she forced a 10-year-old student to unclog a used urinal in the bathroom at Broward Community Charter School.

Documents obtained by The Smoking Gun indicate that 58-year-old Jennifer King Forshey made the child remove soggy paper towels from the urinal using his bare hands.

The unnamed victim told authorities with the Coral Springs Police Department that the towels were soaked in another person’s urine. Though he attempted to use a dry paper towel to protect himself, the liquid soaked through, allegedly leaving his hands smelling of human waste.

Forshey, a third grade teacher at the school, had accused the child of creating the offending paper clog.

Police arrested her Wednesday, according to The Smoking Gun, and charged her with felony battery of a child. They expressed skepticism of her remorse for her actions.

“She only thinks what she did was wrong because she is in trouble for it,” police officials were quoted as saying. “Otherwise, she does not see anything wrong with exposing a child to urine.”

She was initially booked at the Broward County jail, but later released on a $1,000 bond.
