MIRAMAR, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – The Broward County Sheriff’s bomb squad was called to investigate suspicious items located outside of a middle school Tuesday.

The items in question turned out to be pillows.

According to Miramar police spokesperson Tania Rues, an unidentified woman had reportedly been seen placing the items outside of Somerset Preparatory Charter Middle School.

“A school official contacted police, and the woman was no longer on the scene when our officers arrived,” Rues was quoted as saying to the Florida Sun-Sentinel. “As a precaution, we contacted the Broward sheriff’s bomb squad to investigate.”

When they arrived on the scene, the bomb squad was said to have found a plaid shopping bag containing several pillows. No explosives were found on the scene, the paper additionally learned.

During the investigation, the school had been placed on lockdown, and several surrounding streets had been closed to traffic for several hours.
