It was announced Wednesday that Steven Stamkos will not be cleared to play for Team Canada in the Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Chris Dingman from The Kirk and Dinger Morning Show joined Booger and Rich to discuss what that means for the Lightning star and who could replace him on Canada’s roster.

Dinger said it’s a good decision for Stamkos not to play if he isn’t 100%. Dinger said it’s not just about playing for your country, but if Stamkos isn’t ready and gets hurt again, it could affect him for his career.

Dinger said that if he’s Steve Yzerman he would step in and say Marty St. Louis should replace him on Team Canada’s roster. Yzerman is a guy who takes opinions from everyone involved but Dinger said it’s a no-brainer to replace Stamkos with St. Louis.
