Two-time Super Bowl champion Phil Simms joined Booger and Rich to preview the Super Bowl and talk about what it’s like to play in the New York cold.
Simms said that Peyton Manning doesn’t need to win the Super Bowl this year to be in the greatest QB of all time. Simms said he’s absolutely in that conversation and this game comes down to what the Broncos can do as a team more than what Manning can do individually.
Simms also said that people are making too much out of Peyton Manning playing in cold and windy weather. Simms recalled two games this season he called on CBS where the temperature was below freezing and it was windy and he played lights out. However, Manning’s overall play to Simms will determine whether or not the Broncos can win the game.
If he was the offensive coordinator for the Broncos, Simms said he would avoid throwing to the sidelines at Richard Sherman. He also said the Seahawks defense is built to play in today’s NFL because they’re incredibly fast and have 8 guys who can rush the passer.
So who is Simms taking in this year’s game? He says the Seattle Seahawks will raise the Lombardi Trophy on Sunday.
