(AUDIO) Martin Gramatica: The NFL is Slowly Trying to Eliminate the Kicker from the Game

Former Buccaneers kicker Martin Gramatica joined Booger and Rich to talk about Roger Goodell’s interest in eliminating the extra point in the NFL.

Gramatica said that it seems like the NFL is trying to take the kickers out of the game. He said taking away the PAT is crazy. He said the PAT is pretty much automatic but it has turned several games around in the past.

He said the NFL doesn’t view kickers as NFL players but they are an important part of the team.

Gramatica said Goodell is taking out an important piece of the game. Extra points have won football games before. He recalled the play in Dallas when Tony Romo dropped a snap on an “automatic” field goal attempt. You have to give credit to the kickers as well for making those kicks automatic.
