NFL Network analyst and former head coach of the 49ers Steve Mariucci joined Booger and Rich to break down this weekend’s NFL playoff matchups.
Mariucci said that the Patriots Broncos game is a classic matchup between two future Hall of Famers. Most people think this game will come down to two pocket passing QB’s but Mariucci says that both teams have focused more on the run recently. He thinks whichever QB gets the ball last will win the game.
Peyton Manning said Bill Belichick is the best coach he’s ever faced and Mariucci told Booger and Rich that this may be his best coaching job ever. With so many rookies starting and so many injuries piling up, Mariucci says the hoodie has done a great job.
Even if Manning doesn’t get a ring this year, he’ll have more opportunities because this Broncos team is built to win and built to last. He also said that even if Manning never wins another Super Bowl, he still could be considered the greatest QB ever.
In the NFC, Mariucci said that it will come down to which QB, Colin Kaepernick or Russell Wilson, plays better on Sunday. He loves the old school feel of this game with tough defenses and great run games.
