Longwood City Commissioner Suspended Following DUI

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — A city commissioner in central Florida has been removed from office after prosecutors filed felony charges against him in a drunken driving crash.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott signed the suspension order Friday for Commissioner Haywood G. “Butch” Bundy Jr.

The state attorney’s office on Thursday charged Bundy with DUI causing serious bodily injury to another and reckless driving causing serious bodily injury to another. The charges relate to a November crash that left his passenger injured.

Bundy has served on the city commission since 1994, including two terms as mayor.
