Funeral Set For Fla. Woman Stabbed By Son On Christmas Eve

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) — A funeral will be held for a Florida Panhandle woman who was stabbed and bludgeoned in her home on Christmas Eve.

Sharon Aydelott’s funeral will be held Friday in Pensacola. Her 17-year-old son has been charged as an adult with second-degree murder.

Aydelott was a popular teacher at Holley-Navarre Middle School and coached the girls’ cross-country team at her son’s high school in Gulf Breeze. About $5,000 has been donated to a scholarship fund created in her name.

Santa Rosa County School District officials say counseling will be available for teachers returning to work Friday and students returning to class Monday.
