(AUDIO) Tony Dungy: Lovie Smith Will Bring Tampa Bay Winning Football and Will Do it with Class

Former Bucs head coach Tony Dungy reportedly endorsed new Bucs head coach Lovie Smith and joined Booger and Rich to talk about why he likes the hire so much.

Dungy said he’s excited by the hire and expects Lovie Smith to bring winning football to Tampa Bay. Dungy also said that Smith will win the right way with class.

Dungy said when he was in Tampa Bay looking for coaches to hire, he asked his scouts who a good teacher would be for his team. Several of them said Lovie Smith and Dungy said that’s exactly what he got, a guy who teaches and gets the most out of his players.

Lovie Smith will bring a mistake free style of to the Buccaneers and the biggest thing is for him to get the team to buy into his players.

Lovie Smith has been knocked for not having an offense that can put up points and Dungy said in today’s NFL a team can’t win on defense alone. Dungy said the Bucs have to put points up in their division but their defense will be so strong next season that they will be able to keep them in games against great QB’s like Drew Brees.

If he could give Lovie Smith any advice, he said that he would tell him not to let anyone affect him., just be yourself.
