Uneventful Season For Bowers Ends On Injured Reserve

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced today that they have placed defensive end Da’Quan Bowers on Injured Reserve and signed defensive lineman Scott Solomon.

The former draft pick out of Clemson, Bowers has played in 13 games this season, starting two, totaling seven tackles and one sack.  The Buccaneers have continued to struggle at getting to the quarterback with 34 sacks this season.

Solomon (6-3, 262) entered the league as a seventh round pick (211th overall) of the Tennessee Titans in 2012, playing in 13 games for the team, registering nine tackles and three special teams tackles. He played in one game with the New York Jets this season.

A native of San Antonio, Tx., Solomon played collegiately at Rice, appearing in 47 games, tying the school record for sacks (24) and ranking second in school history in tackles for loss (44). He earned All-Conference-USA honors following his senior season.
