Police: Man Dressed As Santa Robs Bank With Suspicious Gift-Wrapped Package

PORT ORANGE, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – Economic struggles have seemingly hit the North Pole.

Police told the Orlando Sentinel that they are searching for a man who dressed as Santa Claus to rob a local SunTrust bank.

Two days before Christmas, the unidentified man walked into the bank carrying a large box wrapped like a present. He reportedly implied to a bank teller that the package was dangerous before demanding money.

Soon after his arrival, the man left with an unspecified amount of money. He left the gift-wrapped box behind, though authorities later determined its contents to be harmless.

The perpetrator was said to have been in his 30s or early 40s, and was around six feet tall, the paper learned.
