Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune joined Marc Ryan tonight to get his thoughts on the resigning of James Loney, and how he would handle the final 2 years of David Price’s contract. Marc says that the Rays and their fans should enjoy the prime of Price’s career rather then send him to another team to enjoy his ability.
Roger laid out to Marc what could be the benefits of trading Price, and who could be the pieces that would be brought back to Tampa Bay if Price is moved.
The Rays today announced that they brought back first baseman James Loney, and Marc asked Roger about what his return means to the Rays. Roger says that it helps keep the infield in tack that was nominated for gold gloves throughout the infield, and also his consistency at the plate and low strike out rate will help keep the lineup moving.
