Police Searching For Man After Mother, Brother Found Dead

LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. (AP) — Authorities are searching for a 24-year-old man after his mother and brother were found dead in their southwest Florida home.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office reports Steven David Tompkins may be armed with a handgun and traveling in a 2004 green Ford pick-up truck with Florida license tag BFK T59.

Deputies discovered the bodies of 55-year-old Shelley Tompkins and 22-year-old Daniel Tompkins at their home in Lehigh Acres Tuesday at about 7 p.m.

Steven David Tompkins lived at the home with his mother and brother and could not be found when deputies arrived. He is described as a person of interest in the case.

Anyone with information on Steven David Tompkins’ whereabouts or has information about the crime is asked to contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS.
