South Florida Woman Sets Fire To Ex’s Apartment Door

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – A South Florida woman was arrested after setting fire to the front door of the home where she had “recently lived together as a family,” with her ex-boyfriend and his girlfriend, reports WTVJ-TV.

Police say the incident began when 26-year-old Kaelyn Marie Partenza went to the apartment “to get closure on her relationship” with ex-boyfriend Brian Morris.

Morris opened the door pointing a handgun at her, and they had a “physical fight on the stairs,” say court documents.

Partenza ran away and left her belongings on the front porch.

Morris threw her boots at her, hitting her in the arm and causing bruising and swelling, then want back inside.

After that, say authorities, Morris saw Partenza peeking into the apartment through the space underneath the front door.

Morris put a rolled up towel in the space to block her view.

Afterwards, he told police, Morris saw flames and smoke coming into the apartment from the towel and the door on fire.

Morris’ current girlfriend put out the fire.

Partenza was arrested on arson charges. Morris was taken into custody on assault and battery charges.
