Arrest Made In Fatal Shooting Of Tampa Cab Driver

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Tampa police say they’ve made an arrest in the shooting death of a cab driver.

Police say 19-year-old Devante Bell was arrested Tuesday night in connection with the death of John Dooley. Bell is charged with first-degree murder and attempted armed robbery with a firearm.

Bell was being held without bail early Wednesday. Hillsborough County jail records did show whether he had an attorney.

According to police, two suspects called for a cab Sunday night and while en route to their destination, they shot and killed Dooley.

Authorities say they are still investigating additional suspects.
