Police: Man Calls In Bomb Threat To Get Friend Out Of Work

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – Lake County police arrested a man they say called in a hoax bomb threat in order to get his friend out of work.

Police say that Anthony Borrell, 28, called the Gators Dockside Restaurant and told the manager he placed a bomb in the restaurant.

According to News 13, police evacuated the restaurant but did not find a bomb.

Police then found that Borrell only placed the call to get his friend, a female waitress at the restaurant, out of work, according to the station.

Borrell turned himself in. He was charged with False Report of Planting a Bomb and booked into the Lake County Jail. His bond is set at $4,000.
