(AUDIO) Heath Bell Excited To Be A Ray

The Rays newest pitcher Heath Bell joined Booger and Rich today to talk about joining the Rays and how he is going to get back to being the quality reliever he has been.

Bell talks about his unconventional style of pitching and how he has figured it out now and hopes to translate that into success with his new team.  Bell says that he is no one to base his mechanics off of for the kids, but he is effective. Bell also talked about regaining his confidence in his ability, and how playing for a manager like Joe Maddon will help him feel more confident in his ability.

When asked about his role with the Rays, Bell said that he has not been told what his role maybe, but he is going to work his butt off to impress the team in the spring and let them decide where he is best suited, but ultimately his goal is the 9th inning.
