TAMPA, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – A promised Black Friday deal reportedly fell through at a local Walmart, leaving some shoppers frustrated and angry.

According to Bay News 9, customers left their holiday meals and went to the superstore in order to take advantage of a one-hour-in-stock guarantee. Those who arrived in time for the deal on Thursday were reportedly going to be offered either a television or a voucher.

However, after waiting in line, most customers who had gotten to the store in time for the promotion were informed that the Walmart was, all the same, out of both televisions and vouchers.

Disgruntled shoppers were handled with the help of deputies from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, the station learned. They were said to have been on the scene already to handle any potential issues.

A representative of Walmart told Bay News 9 that the matter was being investigated.

“It is always our goal to take care of our customers, especially on an important shopping day like Black Friday,” spokesperson Danit Marquardt was quoted as saying.
