Second Twin Dies After Pregnant Mother Fatally Shot

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a second twin has died after a 33-year-old Orlando man allegedly shot and killed his wife, who was eight months pregnant with twins.

Michael Boyce initially told Orange County sheriff’s deputies when he was arrested last week that Alexis Boyce shot herself in the head, but later said he accidentally shot her. The mother and one of the babies were pronounced dead on the day of the shooting. Authorities said the surviving twin died Thursday night.

Boyce made his first court appearance Saturday. Authorities said he now faces a third charge of first-degree murder in the death of his 23-year-old wife and babies.

Deputies say the victim’s parents were in their bedroom when the shooting occurred at the family’s apartment last week.
