Newspaper Ad Calls For Jaguars To ‘Sign Tim Tebow’

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (CBS Tampa) — As the Jacksonville Jaguars season still continues its downward spiral, some fans are still hoping the franchise hitches its wagon to Tim Tebow.

Despite Tebow not being picked up since being cut by both the New York Jets and the New England Patriots during the preseason, an ad was purchased in the Florida Times-Union calling on Shad Khan, the Jaguars owner, to bring in the former Heisman-winning quarterback.

“Dear Mr. Khan, Sign Tim Tebow & We Will Fill The Stadium! Signed, The Citizens Of Jacksonville,” the ad stated, following Sunday’s 27-14 loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

In September, only a dozen people showed up for a rally at EverBank Field in an effort to force the Jaguars to sign Tebow. It obviously didn’t work.

Tebow, who won two national championships and a Heisman while at Florida, has thrown for 2,422 yards and 17 touchdowns in three NFL seasons with the Denver Broncos and New York Jets. He’s also rushed for 989 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The Jaguars are currently have the worst record in the NFL at 1-9.
