(AUDIO) College Football Insider Pat Forde Says Jameis Winston Should Play Until He’s Charged

Pat Forde 11-14

College football insider Pat Forde from Yahoo! Sports joins Booger and Rich every Thursday at 3:40pm and this week he was asked about Jameis Winston being a suspect in a sexual assault case.

Forde said that right now the story is very incomplete and we don’t have many facts yet. Even the state attorney says he doesn’t know why this took so long to come out because he just heard about it this week. Forde says it’s odd that it took so long to come out and questions will be asked about that.

Forde does say that he thinks Winston should be on the field this week. If discipline comes down, then FSU should make a move but until there is a charge or an indication that the law believes he did something wrong, Forde would play him.

Jameis Winston has had unbelievable poise and focus but Forde says this is going to be his biggest test yet. Forde pointed out that Cam Newton and Johnny Manziel went through off the field issues and handled the pressure well.

Forde said this will give voters something to think about when they cast their Heisman vote in the coming weeks. Forde said he doesn’t think however that any voters right now will withhold their vote from Winston because of this. If he’s charged, that will probably change though.
