Deputies Arrest Boy For Bringing Gun On School Bus

RIVERVIEW, Fla. (AP) — Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 9-year-old boy for bringing a loaded gun onto a school bus filled with students. Officials say a county school bus driver was driving to an elementary school Wednesday when she saw a boy put a small handgun in the front pocket of his pants. The bus driver immediately notified officials. Officials say deputies were waiting at the school when the bus arrived and everyone safely walked off the bus. Deputies searched the boy and found a loaded .22-caliber gun in his front pants pocket. The boy, who was not named because of his age, was arrested and taken to the county’s juvenile center. The student’s parents told officials their son took the gun from home without their knowledge. (© Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.
