St. Petersburg Elects Rick Kriseman As Its Next Mayor

Eclipsing most predictions, St. Petersburg mayor-elect, Democrat Rick Kriseman beat Republican incumbent Bill Foster with more than ten percent of the vote.

The name Kriseman should be familiar to citizens of St. Petersburg as he served on the St. Petersburg City Council from 2000 to 2006, then he served in the Florida State House of Representatives from 2006 to 2012. While in Tallahassee, he served as the Democratic Caucus Policy Chair from 2010 to 2012.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Kriseman and his family live in St. Petersburg, Florida.
