Veterans Day in 2013 will be a busy day for Tampa Bay restaurants who wish to salute and thank our veterans with FREE meals. Although, it will be even more busy for the bay area vets and military who will eat these free meals. Mainly because there are so many options for each meal of the day.
Here’s our list of the best FREE Tampa Bay Veterans Day meals from sunrise to sunset on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013.
Tip: Some of these Veterans Day free meals are nationwide and some are only at participating locations. Start your Veterans Day FREE meals at Denny’s with the all you can eat pancakes from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. There are 22 Denny’s in Tampa Bay. This offer applies to active military or veterans only.
Like French Toast? Village Inn will be giving veterans and active military their choice of a free stack of buttermilk pancakes, free french toast, or a Belgian waffles on Veterans Day. Grab your military proof before you head out to the Village Inn nearest you. Not all locations are participating so be sure to check ahead venturing out.
If you like breakfast on the light and sweet side, Krispy Kreme is honoring all vets with a free doughnut and small coffee this Veterans Day. No purchase is necessary as long as you are active-duty, retired, or a veteran. Be sure to call ahead to verify your local Krispy Kreme is participating.
The Garden is a wonderful choice to enjoy a Veterans Day free lunch or dinner. Veterans and active duty military can enjoy a choice of: Seafood Alfredo, Chicken Parmigiana, Grilled Sausage & Peppers Rustica, Cheese Ravioli, or Spaghetti with Meat Sauce. All these entrees come with freshly baked garlic bread sticks and unlimited soup or salad. Olive Garden is open Veterans Day from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.
Your neighborhood Applebee’s will be serving veterans and active duty military a FREE Thank You Meal that includes: a 7 oz. House Sirloin, Bacon Cheddar Cheeseburger, Three-Cheese Chicken & Sundried Tomato Penne, Fiesta Lime Chicken, Double Crunch Shrimp, Chicken Tenders Platter or Oriental Chicken Salad. Must present valid Veteran’s form of identification, or be in uniform. Visit Applebee’s website to find participating locations. There are 21 Applebee’s in the Tampa Bay area.
Chili’s is offering all military veterans past and present their choice of one of theses 9 meal options: Oldtimer with Cheese – Chicken Crispers – Margarita Grilled Chicken – Classic Turkey Toasted – Sandwich (full) – Lighter Choices Grilled Chicken Salad – Soup & Salad Combo – Any Flatbread (full size) – Any 9″ Pizza – Or any Lunch Combo during lunchtime. Beverages and gratuity not included. This offer is available only from 11am – 5pm on Monday, November 11, 2013 at participating Chili’s. Check online for participating locations. Veterans and active duty military must show proof of military service.
Bar Louie is giving away free Veterans Day meals for two days on Nov. 10 & 11 in honor of Veterans Day. All vets and active military food get free any food item on their menu – up to a $12 value. Beverages and gratuity not included. You’ll need to show proof of military service. There are two Bar Louie’s in Tampa Bay. International Plaza in Tampa and on US 19 in Clearwater.
The 2013 Military Appreciation “Thank You” dinner is Monday, November 11 from 4pm – 9pm. The free thank you dinner is available to any person who has ever served in the United States Military. No ID required. Dine-in only. Families members are welcomed to eat at regular prices. All Golden Corral locations will be participating.
On Monday the 11th military and veterans can enjoy a free pizza and non-alcoholic beverage with valid ID. There are two locations in the Tampa Bay area. One in Tampa at International Plaza and the other in Brandon on Brandon Town Center Drive.

Champps is giving veterans and active duty military a free burger and waffle fries all day on Monday, November 11. There will be seven burgers to choose from – Champps Cheeseburger, Carolina, Shroom, The Guac, Firehouse, Chipotle BBQ, and Bleu. You’ll need to bring in proof of military services with you such as your U.S. Uniforms Services ID Card, U.S. Uniforms Services Retired ID Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, DD214, or wear your uniform.
