(AUDIO) Shannon Sharpe Says the Bucs Can’t Compete in the NFL Without a Tight End

Shannon Sharpe 10-10

NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe joined Booger and Rich to give his opinion on the state of the Buccaneers and what they need to do to beat the Eagles on Sunday.

Sharpe said that Josh Freeman could’ve played better but Schiano has to understand that he’s not at Rutgers anymore. Players don’t have to like Schiano they just have to respect him. With Freeman gone, Schiano could be next.

With all of the leaks coming out of One Buc, Sharpe said that he would be disappointed if he was a veteran because this information shouldn’t have gotten out. It’s supposed to be a family and families don’t leak this kind of information.

When asked if he could play for Schiano, Sharpe said that he could if he was a rookie because he wouldn’t know any better. But for the veterans, it’s hard for them to buy in when they’re not used to that coaching style.

Sharpe pointed out that Dashon Goldson and Carl Nicks didn’t sign with the Bucs to play with a rookie QB. They came here to win and he’s surprised the Bucs think that Glennon gives them the best chance to win.

With the Bucs lacking a TE, Sharpe says it’s tough for any offense to be successful. You have to have a good TE to compete in the NFL. Sharpe says if you look at teams like the Broncos and Browns, they are able to compete because of that position helps your QB.

News came out on Thursday that Carl Nicks still has MRSA in his toe and Sharpe said he’s very concerned because of how threatening it is. He hopes the Bucs get it rectified quickly.
