CBS NFL insider Jason LaCanfora spoke with Booger and Rich about the possible trade destinations for Josh Freeman and what his relationship with Greg Schiano was like.
LaCanfora said that by benching Freeman, the Bucs have decreased his trade value dramatically. He mentioned that in order for the Bucs to make a trade they need to have a willing trade partner which may be tough to find. The Vikings were a team LaCanfora said may be interested because of their current QB situation with Christian Ponder.
LaCanfora told Booger and Rich that he believes there never really was a relationship between Schiano and Freeman. After Schiano joined the Bucs LaCanfora says they never developed any trust between each other.
With Mike Glennon now starting, LaCanfora said that Schiano no longer has any excuses. He has his guy in and if the Bucs struggle for the remainder of the season, it’s going to be hard for Schiano to defend himself and hold onto his job.
From the rest of the league’s perspective, LaCanfora described the Bucs situation as a “train wreck.” He says teams around the league see them as a mistake prone team that continues to beat themselves.
