Deteriorating Human Bones Found In Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Police say deteriorating human bones found in Jacksonville are now part of a murder case.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office made the announcement on Tuesday.

The Florida Times Union reports the bones were found on Saturday near a railroad line by workers from Teco Peoples Gas who were checking the area for a gas leak. Police say the remains had been there for some time.

The remains included a gold tooth with the letter “H” on it.

It wasn’t immediately known what led investigators to deem it an apparent homicide.
