Trooper Helps Deliver Baby On Busy Interstate

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A Florida trooper helped with this highway delivery.

Dennis Rich with the Florida Highway Patrol was investigating a traffic crash Tuesday morning on Interstate 4 near Tampa when he was flagged down to help deliver a baby.

Authorities say the parents — Wiclef and Latoya Desamour — were on their way to St. Joseph’s Hospital when their baby girl was ready to be born. The father pulled over and asked Rich for help.

The family welcomed their third daughter — and fourth child— a short time later. Fire rescue arrived and took the baby and Latoya to the hospital.
