Man Tries To Pay Water Bill With Cocaine

DELTONA, Fla. (CBS Tampa) –┬áThe week started on an interesting note for employees at the Deltona Water office when a man reportedly handed in an envelope with cocaine inside of it – for his water bill.

According to the West Volusia Beacon, the unidentified man gave the envelope to officials at the water company Monday morning.

Since officials did not know the origin or identity of the white powder, the office was initially evacuated while deputies with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, as well as HAZMAT teams from the Deltona Fire Department and Volusia County Fire Services, investigated the matter.

Once the powder was tested, it was identified as cocaine, the paper learned.

The investigation is ongoing.
