(AUDIO) Lavonte David: The Mindset in the Locker Room is Positive

Every Tuesday at 4:20pm Bucs linebacker Lavonte David joins Booger and Rich and takes you onto the field for your Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

David said Schiano needed to come in and change the culture and he’s tough and that’s just the way it is. David said as a player you like that. He demands a lot out of his players. Reports were that new players like Dashon Goldson and Darrelle Revis were among those complaining about Schiano’s style. David said he couldn’t really speak on their feelings but he likes the physical style.

With the Bucs being 0-3, David said guys in the locker room aren’t happy with the start but guys are stepping up like Goldson saying we have to stick together, handle our part and do what we have to do. He said everyone’s keeping a positive mindset and it’s going to change. David said he tries to keep everybody’s head up and makes sure his teammates have a positive mindset.

David did say there is a moment where you have to get last week out of your head and move on. He said they’ve been through the tape and now they’re looking forward to the Arizona Cardinals. David said after the tape review, he likes the physicality of the defense. However, the defense needs to be more disciplined David said especially in the red zone.

When it comes to Josh Freeman, David says it doesn’t seem like anyone is losing faith in Josh Freeman including Freeman himself. He said he’s our starter and you have to keep believing in him. It’s important for the team to rally around him.
