Every Monday and Friday Scott Reynolds from Pewter Report joins Booger and Rich to take you inside One Buc Place and give you expert analysis on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Reynolds said we have to take Darrelle Revis on his word saying that the air is clear between he and Schiano. The issue is losing. Any time a team starts to struggle and gets into must win situations, the pressure rises in the locker room.
Reynolds said he gives Schiano credit for making sure everyone is focused on Sunday’s game and not on the outside distractions. The team hasn’t been discussing the issues internally as much as some may think.
As far as the penalties go, Schiano says they are addressing the issue. But Reynolds said there seems to be a disconnect between coach and players because despite having the issues addressed, the penalties keep happening. Reynolds also noted that players aren’t praising Schiano in the locker room and they could be tuning him out.
Reynolds said it looks like guard Carl Nicks will finally play for the first time this season. Gabe Carimi hasn’t been practicing and won’t play Sunday so it looks like it’s time for Nicks to get back onto the field and help Doug Martin get the running game going.
Defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan admitted that Darrelle Revis may have been misused in Sunday’s game against the Saints on the final drive. Reynolds said Revis has to be matched up on Marques Colston in that situation. Watch for how quickly the plays get into Lavonte David and the defense this weekend Reynolds said. That was a major issue in the game against the Saints.
