Kids Encouraged To Draw Their Feelings Out On Sidewalk

DANIA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Children are encouraged to draw out their feelings about peace at a sidewalk chalk painting event in Broward County.

The Dare2Care/Chalk4Peace event will be held Friday at the C.W. Thomas Park in Dania Beach.

School resource deputies with the Broward Sherriff’s Office and community policing units have engaged 75 students from two schools in the area to participate in the event.

A BSO release says the chalk painting festival happens worldwide every September and helps spread messages of inspiration and visions for a more peaceful community. The idea is to express messages of peace, tolerance and anti-bullying with chalk on sidewalks, driveways and parking lots.
