Bucs safety Dashon Goldson has been suspended 1 game for his personal foul helmet-to-helmet hit against the Saints Darren Sproles during Sunday’s game.

Goldson was also flagged in the Bucs Week 1 game against the Jets for the same infraction. He was fined $30,000 last week for that penalty, but the NFL decided to take it a step further and suspend him for next week’s game against the Patriots. Goldson has the option to appeal the suspension.

Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune tweeted that Goldson’s suspension will cost him $264,705 in salary.

Since 2010, Goldson leads the NFL with 15 personal foul penalties.

UPDATE: Sources say that Dashon Goldson will appeal the suspension.
