Police: Woman Posted Picture Of Herself Dangling Son Over Balcony On Instagram

TAMPA, Fla. (CBS Tampa) – A woman was arrested after posting a picture of herself holding her infant son over the railing of an apartment balcony on Instagram.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, 25-year-old Aisha Jean Clark used her account – with the user handle “RatMove13” – to post the picture, which shows the boy dangling by his right arm over the balcony railing.

A police report obtained by the Times indicates that Tampa police soon learned of the picture when friends called to report it, and visited Clark’s home at noon on Tuesday. Upon their arrival, they reportedly asked Clark if they knew why they had come to the apartment.

Rather than deny the picture, she laughed, then proceeded to show responding authorities a version of it on her iPad. Police noted that she and her son were wearing the same clothing as those worn by both parties in the picture.

She proceeded to offer an explanation to police.

“I was mad and I was making a point,” the woman was quoted as saying. “I can do what I want with my baby. Nobody can stop me.”

Authorities showed her otherwise – she was arrested and taken to the Hillsborough County Jail, where she was held without bail. She is now facing a charge of child neglect, the Times learned.
