Deputies Investigate Series Of Home Invasions

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Deputies say at least two women were sexually battered during a series of armed home invasions at two Tampa apartment complexes.

Florida Hospital officials alerted police late Thursday regarding two women they were treating.

Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies say the gunman entered the home and bound four men with duct tape before sexually assaulting the women.

Another woman says a man entered her home in a nearby complex, but left. Deputies say he then entered an apartment where 25 people were attending a party. He forced the partygoers into a bedroom at gunpoint and fired at least one round into the carpet.

As he left that apartment, the followed a man to his apartment. The man locked the door and the suspect fired rounds at the door.
