Former Jets offensive lineman and current NFL analyst Damien Woody joined Booger and Rich to help preview the Buccaneers Week 1 matchup against the New York Jets.
Woody told Booger and Rich that the Jets have a number of challenges ahead of them this season including starting a rookie QB, getting Santonio Holmes onto the field and a lack of talent on the offensive side of the ball.
Rex Ryan, who’s on the hot seat this year, is a bright defensive mind according to Woody but it will be tough for him to keep his job this year because of the challenges his team faces.
With Darrelle Revis returning to play his former team, Woody said there’s like a little animosity between him and the Jets organziation because of his holdouts for more money and the way things ended between the two. Woody said look for Revis to be amped up once toe hits leather.
When asked about Josh Freeman, Woody said he’s a talented QB that has a lot of skills, but he makes bad decisions. This being a contract year for Freeman, Woody says he has far more to prove on Sunday than Jets rookie QB Geno Smith does.
So why would the Bucs win on Sunday? Woody says if they do, it’s because they have more talent on their team.
