Body Of Missing Teen Found Near Fla. Everglades

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Miami-Dade police say they’ve found the body of a missing teenager in a canal near the Florida Everglades.

Family members told police they had not heard from 18-year-old Jesus Trejo since Tuesday. He was last seen at a friend’s house.

Investigators found his abandoned vehicle on Wednesday, parked on a roadway in southwest Miami-Dade County.

Late Wednesday, divers found a body in a nearby canal. Police have confirmed it is the missing teen.

Investigators say the case is currently being worked as a homicide.

No further information was immediately available.
